Underground Theater Company

The UG theater company has been formed to provide actors, writers, and directors with the opportunity to showcase, and nurture their talents, in the greater Los Angeles area.

Writers are encouraged to submit new material.

Directors can become a part of the creative process by utilizing their skills in the directing of actual plays.

Actors are given the opportunity to participate in plays, readings, casting director workshops and auditions.

The Underground’s diverse membership is divided into three classes: Actors, Writers and Directors. The company at large will be responsible for all productions and programs put forth by the UG theater. By utilizing our comprehensive website members can sign up for upcoming functions. All functions will be on a limited enrollment R.S.V.P basis. Such events will include Casting Director Workshops, Scene Study Workshops (not excluding members that are directors), and On Camera Workshops as well as guest speakers. Previous casting directors include: Paul Webber, Michael Donovan and Mark Sikes just to name a few.

The UG theater company will focus on putting up new and published works as well as one night Showcases (once again with the opportunity for company directors/writers to showcase new material).

Actors, writers and directors are encouraged to fully utilize The Underground facilities: Meaning, they are more than welcome to request time in the theater for readings, workshops (which can take the form of one acts that a director may want to put up, a workshop of a new piece that a writer wants to hear out loud, etc.), or other functions that lend itself to creativity within the Art fields. This is a unique opportunity that The Underground Theater Company offers. Email your requests to -- all will be evaluated and considered.
